Surfed a few days here and there before this that weren't worth writing about, but this day absolutely was.

Recently I got my hands on this pretty much new phantom that I wanted to bust in for the first time today, and going off the predicted swell on Surfline and SurfForecast.com, I decided it should be a fun 2-3ft day to grovel.

As you can see, with the dominant swell being a small south swell (which we don't really do well on here), I thought it'd be a typical pretty small and fun day so I double checked the buoys reading a surprise swell from the WNW reading at 6.2ft @ 13s with total glass/slight offshore winds.

When I pulled up to check devs, I realized it was the wrong day to break in a new board.


Despite devs looking pretty fun, Ryan and I decided to check out Sands since devs was already packed with the typical student log squad.

Upon reaching sands, it was totally uncrowded, a solid 4-5ft (maybe more)
